The University reimburses expenses such as transportation of household goods, meals, lodging, and packing based onnbsp;eligibility.nbsp;UCLA conducted a competitive bid to pre-qualify suppliers who will provide a high level of service to the Los Angeles and Merced campuses and to the UC Office of the President (UCOP).nbsp;nbsp;These suppliers can perform local, national, and international moves of household goods and lab equipment.nbsp;


To locate a mover who has an established agreement with UCLA:




  1. Open thenbsp;Vendor Agreement List.


  2. Click on the Commodity heading to sort the list in alphabetical order by commodity.


  3. Scroll under the Commodity heading in the Vendor Agreementsnbsp;List to "Moving and Storage, Household Furniture and Vehicles."nbsp;


  4. Click the Agreement Number link for the vendor to view contact and agreement information.


  5. Create an A class order in BruinBuy or PAC using the campuswide agreement number provided for the vendor you select.

Call at least two of the recommended suppliers from the Agreements List for a price quote. Call only one supplier if the move is relatively small.


2nbsp; Provide pre-order information

Provide the following pre-order information to the movers:




  • Name of the employee to be moved


  • Address of the move locations (origins and destinations)


  • Phone numbers, including cell phone, and best time(s) for the movers to call the employee being movednbsp;


  • Email address of the employee to be movednbsp;


  • Preferred move date
3nbsp; Movers submit cost estimate The movers will perform a survey within 3-5 days after receiving the required pre-ordering information and submit the cost estimate in writing within 24 hours.
4nbsp; Issue anbsp;Low Value Order (LVO) Issue the supplier annbsp;LVO release using class code A to cover the entire move, even if the move will take place over several different time periods. Do not break down the move into multiple LVOs.
5nbsp; Mover contacts employee The mover will call you or the employee to make final arrangements and review the move plan.

6nbsp; Additional insurance information (optional)


For information on insurance, other than the supplier’s insurance, contact the Office of Insurance and Risk Management (OIRM). Allow two weeks for purchase of insurance to supplement the supplier’s insurance.

6nbsp; Mover contacts you and the employee

The supplier will contact you and the new employee to make final arrangements and review the move plan.

7nbsp; Mover submits invoices


Review the invoices submitted by the vendor to verify accuracy.
